Numerous reports of various hacked MW2 matches today
I’ve received about a dozen of reports that a lot of hacked MW2 seem to be going on in the USA at the moment. It has been reported that matches seem to be going on forever and ever, have ridicules high XP rewards and ‘wrong game types’ on maps (e.g. TDM on Rust, a FFA map).

For people wondering how’s this possible: This can be done using memory injection (if that’s the right name for it btw). It’s a fairly easy procedure. You first scan/sniff the memory of an ‘hooked’ program, MW2 in this case, and keep an close eye of all hex variables changing and pick out the one you want to manipulate. Then, using trail and error, you can find out which value hex represents the map/gametype/xp reward what you’re looking. For example: If you want to find out which hex value represents the amount of ammo, first scan the memory of an full gun with 30 bullets, shoot 1 time with 29 bullets remaining, and scan the memory again. The changed value should be the hex value for the amount of bullets in your magazine, since nothing else changed.. that’s in layman terms of course.
Although it’s easy to do, beware: it’s VAC bannable because VAC scans for memory injections.

Modern Warfare 2 Most Pirated Game of 2009
Apparently IW also failed at their goal to reduce piracy by using IWnet, since, according to Torrent Freak, Modern Warfare 2 is the most pirated game of 2009:
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 broke records this year as the biggest ever entertainment launch in history. With 4.7 million units sold in the US and UK during the first 24 hours, it pulled in revenues totaling $310 million.
In five days the game’s worldwide sales climbed to $550 million, crushing previous record holders Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (only $394m) and The Dark Knight (just $203.8m).
“In just five days of sell through Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has become the largest entertainment launch in history and a pop culture phenomenon,” Activision CEO Bobby Kotick said commenting on the game’s success. This is, of course, reflected in the number of pirated copies being traded on BitTorrent.
With 4.1 million unauthorized downloads of the PC version alone, the game more than doubles the achievement of last year’s ‘winner‘ Spore. Modern Warfare 2 leads both the PC and Xbox 360 lists, by a landslide.
The overall trend across all platforms is that, unlike last year, all of the games are 2009 releases. What makes Modern Warfare 2’s chart-topping even more impressive is that this has been achieved after just two months of availability. We further see that the figures for the most downloaded titles have more than doubled compared to last year, equaling the growth in uTorrent users.
PC games are by far the most downloaded titles, with on average more than three times the number of downloads compared to Xbox 360 and Wii releases.
The data for these lists is collected by TorrentFreak from several sources, including reports from all public BitTorrent trackers. All the data is carefully checked and possible inaccuracies are systematically corrected.
Can’t remember seeing a post that any other recent COD game (COD4, COD WaW) was the most pirated game of the year..

Creative Gamers abusing Tactical Insertion
It's possible for two cohorting players to use the Tactical Insertion perk to stragically respawn themselves in a quiet area of the map - away from the action. Player one then lets player two knife them to death time after time until player two gets a 25 kill streak and launches the tactical nuke to end the game.
This just happened to me in a FreeForAll match, which in theory matches random players against each other, thus reducing the chances of this happening. However, with the winning player ending the game on 37/0, the player in last place ending the round 0/27 and with both players having the same clan tag, eyebrows have to be raised.
Nice creative way of gathering a nice amount of XP by using some easily obtained kill streaks such as a AC-130.

IW4 console with ‘XBOXLIVE_PARTYENDED’ Error ?

New video not finished today
Sorry guys, but I have some bad news. The new video I promised you guys yesterday in my ‘bugged 18 players 3rd person cage match’ video, isn’t finished yet, thus I can’t release it today. I hope it’s ready by tomorrow.
The reason for this is that the converting of the large, raw, video files FRAPS created takes waaaay longer than expected.

Epic Title Flags Fail
In Modern Warfare 2, every player has the ability to ‘customize’ their character by setting their individual title and emblem. Also included with those customizable titles, are flags of various countries in the world, like for instance Germany or France.
But yet again, Infinity Ward has made another ‘factual’ blunder. Have a look of the flags of Italy and Ireland. At first sight, their is nothing wrong with the flags, but if you look more closely, you’ll see that the colours are reverted. The correct flag is also shown next to the ‘title flag’ in the picture.
And no, this is not the flag of an other country besides Ireland or Italy, since no other country has a flag like that, as far as I know. Or lets put it this way: No other 'civilized' country has the reverted flag of Ireland or Italy.
Shame on you Infinity Ward ! I made this error myself when I was 3 years old, trying to draw the flag of my country, but you guys seriously should know better. How lazy can you be ?
I hope the Italian mafia isn’t upset because of all this..

Infinity Ward uses wrong language in MW2 map
Apparently, Infinity Ward is even to lazy to do a little bit of research regarding the cities of the multiplayer maps they create and their cultural background.
The in-game version of Karachi, which is a real city in Pakistan, features text which is in fact Arabic, despite that not being the language spoken in Pakistan. The country features English as the official language and Urdu as its national language.
Saad, who tipped Kotaku and lives in the real city of Karachi said: “I, being a Pakistani, was so excited at seeing a Karachi map and then immediately so disappointed when I played the map… Infinity Ward probably thought, ‘Oh hey its a Muslim country so Arabic is the language’”. Arabic uses the same characters as Urdu, similar to how French and English have the same Latin-based characters but obviously have hugely different meanings.
For those of you not really seeing the problem, here’s an example. Imagine playing a game on a multiplayer map which is set in Amsterdam and finding Spanish or French texts written all over the place. Distracting, isn’t it ? At least it’s an epic failure.
Infinity Ward, do your homework, like every child of 12 is supposed to do !

Banana leafs are bulletproof in MW2. Really !
Well, according to Infinity Ward('s logic) they are. Yup, that's right, they even forgot to add balance for banana leafs. According to the latest ‘Modern Warfare 2 Mythbusters Episode’, banana leafs are bullet proof: You can't shoot trough them at all. Not a single shot of *any* gun hits it’s target. For a demonstration, watch the first 30 seconds of the video below:
Damn, I really need to some of those leafs. I’m pretty sure they feel way more comfortable than a regular bullet proof vest. Where can I get them, Rob ?
