no, the xbox 360 is the problem.

Not exactly true. I can not host a game. Not because of my NAT, which is open, but because I have a horrible upload speed. Therefore I can only ever connect to games, and I have no issues doing that. So not being able to host =/= not being able to find a game.

I never got MW2 to find games well with a router, tried 3 diff ones all LIVE certified. Eventually the only fix I found was to bypass the router with an ethernet switch when I play. Hope this helps.

I have all ports forwarded, my NAT is open and my internet is fine, but I'm still tossed about in the lobby for 10 minutes before finding a game, the merger of the lobbies, looking for more players, find home, find new home, can not move home, again wait for 50 s intermission for new hosts, cannot connect to this host or another, then finally get a game in late hell. I am sure it is acceptable for console gamers, but after playing COD4 MW1 you kind of get used to it, MW2 is a total regression and I do not think I'll buy more games Infinty up Ward they start using the media server again.:mad:

NAT type has nothing to do with how well you can connect to the games. It only has to do with hosting. Basically if your NAT is open, you can host. If not, you can't host.

Yep and this function is there to let players think the connection problems may be there because of a Strict nat. And if they open it they may be those lucky guys with a rather fast internet connection and they are going to be the host themselves. So of course they don't even have lag anymore :P

Well, my ports are open. It changes from game to game. Basically, every time I start the game I have either strict or normal w/o changing anything.

It Happens to me too...i have open nat, but every day i need to restart my router in order to see "open nat" in the mw2 screen. If i don't restart that thing it just shows "nat:strict"...it happens to my friends too and they have different routers...so i think that may be it's a problem of mw2...

And this is why I stopped playing MW2... it's pointless since it's not balanced for anything... well maybe besides fail BUT that's it!
